Welcome!
Joining the 31st Alabama Infantry Re-enacting with the 31st Alabama Infantry combines a love of history with theater, fellowship, and the escape from the stresses of the 21st century life. Ours is a non-political, sociable organization that prides itself on being professional but also having a good time. We must note that we are NOT a racist radical, fringe group and are NOT associated with hate groups or any other affiliate. We are merely a group of families that enjoy acting, teaching, camping, and cooking together. We are Christian and Family oriented. No previous experience in the military is required for membership. All you need to start is the desire to learn, a willingness to help educate the public on this era in our Nation's history, the ability to have fun, and some free weekends. With us, the ability to "try before you buy" ensures that you won't invest a lot of money, only to find out that reenacting doesn't meet your needs. If you have questions about reenacting, someone else probably had questions as well. So we have compiled a list of frequently asked questions about the hobby. Check out the Questions page for all the answers you may need.
We are members of the Alabama Division of Civil War Reenactors. You can check out that website at www.alabamadivision.org
