In Memory of our Captain Bobby Bawcum      September 12, 1958 - August 14, 2007
The 31st Alabama & 17th Iowa Reenactors
This page is in memory of our
beloved Captain Bobby Bawcum. He
unexpectedly passed away on
August 14, 2007 while at work. He
will truly be missed by all.

Bobby was a really great guy. He
was a loving husband and father, a
great friend, a mentor. In general,
he was a truly wonderful person to
be around. I know I speak for
several people when I say that he

made my life better by knowing him. I am truly honored to have known
Bobby. He never met a stranger and if a fence post could talk back then he
would have talked to it. He would have given you the shirt off his back and
done anything for you. Bobby touched the lives of so many people, both in
the reenacting world and the world in general.

For those of you who knew Bobby and his passion for reenacting know about
his trailer. Bobby's trailer was FULL, just like his life. His trailer carried all
kinds of things in it. Some stuff we didn't need and could have been left at
home. If he thought we needed it, it was in the trailer. For years, we would
always offer to help unload and load the trailer at reenactments, but he
never let us. He had a certain way everything went in, everything belonged
in a certain spot. Now that he is gone, we are afraid to take anything out. It
might not all get back in.

Bobby will always have a place in our hearts. His widow and children are in
our thoughts and prayers. Again, we will miss Bobby.

that was so full having to be
pulled up the driveway at the
Crazy Horse Ranch in
